Issey Miyake - Sticks'
French-born, Tokyo-based designer and architect emmanulle moureaux (she works with colour, a lot) has created 'Sticks', an in-store colour installation for issey miyake.
consisting of 411 white and coloured sticks of different lengths.
Their assembled form connects and provides circulation to the store space and a new appearance to the long window front.
inspired by 'mikado', a european children's game, the sticks seem to be positioned randomly, creating tension and chance balances.
There is kinetic movement and stasis at the same time. A comforting still.
The interplay of colour elements is much more difficult to compose, than meets the eye.
Its great to see the pre-assembly. Like colour candy sticks.
The model showing the dance through the colour spectrum.
